Heading into the Second World War, the US Army made these holsters to carry them into battle. Although a very basic looking design, it was a solid performer when needing to draw in a hurry and could be mounted wherever the user needed it on their belt, securely. Commonly the holster was mounted to a M1936 pistol belt by using the metal hooks through the eyelets but it can also be mounted onto any type of belt surface with loops at the rear.
