The Brits \u0026amp; commonwealth were issued these tins that used to contain a set of 6 flares. Each box would have a coloured star at the top to tell the user which colour they would be lighting up. They also have different markings according to colour imprinted on them so you can feel at night which colour you are handling (cross for red, circle for yellow, triangle for green). Originally these would be somewhat water tight, although with age and use this is probably not fully the case for all of them. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese flare tins make for great nik-nak storage or aesthetically pleasing vintage show pieces on a shelf.
